# Install on Shopify

Paste your snippet into your theme's theme.liquid, and your agent's chat shows on every page.

## Put it on your site

1. **Copy your snippet** — In **Channels**, open **Chat widget**, press **Install** on your agent's row, then **Copy snippet**. **Where to paste** under it shows these steps when your site runs on Shopify. ![Where to paste on the Install tab, with Shopify chosen and its steps](https://hiy.ai/docs-shots/install/shopify.webp) *Channels › Chat widget › Install*

2. **Open Edit code** — In **Online Store**, press **…** beside your theme, then **Edit code**. Duplicate the theme first to keep a copy.

3. **Open theme.liquid** — It's under **Layout**, and every store page uses it.

4. **Paste near the end** — Paste the snippet just above the closing `</body>` tag.

5. **Save** — Press **Save**. Checkout pages don't use this file, so the chat doesn't show there.

**Good to know:**

- Duplicate your theme first, so you have a copy to go back to.
- Checkout pages don't use `theme.liquid`, so the chat doesn't show there.
- A trial of a paid theme can't be edited until you buy it.
- A Support Agent shows here when **Who can open it** is **Anyone on your sites**: Shopify can't run the code signed-in visitors need. [Open on your site](/docs/embed#open-on-your-site)
