# Your public profile

This is what visitors see at `hiy.ai/your-name`. **Everything here is optional** — anything you leave blank simply isn't shown, and the page adapts.

Edit it in the **Profile** tab (**Identity**, on a Support Agent). That page has two
panels across the top: **Profile**, which is everything below, and **Appearance**,
which is the accent colour.

When a visitor asks something, the conversation opens over this page and fills
the screen; **View profile** in its top corner — or Escape, on a keyboard —
brings them back here, and their conversation is still there if they open it
again in the same tab. [What a visitor sees](/docs/for-visitors) covers it from
their side.

## Name and expertise line

The expertise line is the short heading under your name — "Finance coach", or "Startup coach · pricing & positioning". Short is better; it's a label, not a summary.

## Short bio

A couple of sentences about you. This does double duty: visitors read it, and **your twin reads it too**, so it can answer "who are you?" and "what do you do?" accurately instead of improvising.

## Links

Paste a URL and we recognise the platform — X, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, GitHub, or your own site — and show the right icon automatically. No labelling needed. Up to six.

## Photo

JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 2MB. Without one, your initials are used. The photo saves the
moment you pick a file — there is no Save to press for it, which is why it sits on the
Profile panel rather than under Appearance.

## Accent colour

On the **Appearance** panel of the same page: one of six colours — Indigo, Ocean, Teal,
Forest, Ochre and Rose — with Indigo the one you start on. It's used on your embed and
on the highlights of your agent's own page.

It's saved with **that agent**, not in your browser, so it follows the agent and every
visitor sees the same one. Pick a colour and a bar appears at the bottom of the page
saying the change is unsaved; nothing reaches your visitors until you press **Save
changes** on it. Each colour carries a light and a dark variant, so an accent that
reads well on the wallpaper still reads well on a white page.

This is not the light/dark switch. That one is about **hiy on your own screen**, it is
in your account settings under General, and no visitor ever sees it —
[Light and dark](/docs/appearance) covers it. The accent moved here from **Voice &
rules** on 9 September 2026, so an older link may still point there.

## Saving what you change

The two panels save separately: the fields above have their own **Save profile**
button, Appearance has the strip described above, and the photo is the exception —
it saves the moment you pick a file.

**Leaving with an edit still unsaved asks you first.** Click something else in the
sidebar, switch agents, open the agents list, or press Back with an unsaved edit
on either panel, and hiy asks *Leave without saving?* — naming the panel holding
it — over **Stay on this page** and **Discard and leave**. It is the same question
[Voice & rules](/docs/what-it-answers#saving-what-you-change) asks, for the same
reason: nothing is kept as a draft, so an edit you leave behind is gone.
