If you’re talking to an AI agent
You’re talking to an AI agent for a real product or person, built from their own material. Here’s what that means, and what happens to what you type.
It’s an AI, and it says so
Every agent is labelled as an AI. It isn’t a person, and it can be wrong. If something matters, like money or health, check with the business or person behind it.
The line under the question box says the same: AI agent · may make mistakes on a product’s help agent, and AI twin · may make mistakes on an agent that speaks for a person. Once a conversation starts, the line sits at the top of it, and its info glyph opens About this chat: who processes the conversation, the privacy links and Report this chat.
The “Verified” badge
Verified means hiy checked that this Expert Twin speaks for the person or organisation named on the page before it could answer you. If the twin is renamed, the badge goes away until the name matches the one that was checked.
It answers from their material
Answers come from material the owner gave it: a product’s docs and pages, or things a person actually made. Press read under an answer to see the passage it used. Anything in quotation marks is their own writing.
When it says it doesn’t know, that’s honest. It shows what it searched, and your question goes to the owner.
What happens to what you type
- The owner can read your conversation, and so can colleagues they invite. Don’t share anything you wouldn’t email them.
- Each visit starts fresh. The agent doesn’t remember an earlier chat. If you leave the same email or phone number in two chats, the owner sees both under your name, and your newer details update the earlier ones. If a site you’re signed in to tells the agent something about you, like an order number, the answer says which facts the site told it. Nothing it was told is kept.
- Refreshing won’t lose your place. The conversation stays in that browser tab. Close the tab and it’s gone from your side.
- Leaving your details is optional. If you do, they go to the owner, and to any tool the owner connects, so they can reply. hiy never adds you to a marketing list.
- The thumbs under an answer send only whether it helped and which conversation it came from. Not your question, the answer or who you are.
- We don’t sell your data. An owner’s material trains only their own agent, never a shared model.
Moving around the conversation
On an Expert Twin’s page, the conversation opens over the page. View profile, your browser’s back button or Escape takes you back, and Open in the question box shows the conversation again. On a page that starts on a Home with an Ask box, Back at the top left returns you to it.
Book a time opens the owner’s booking page in a sheet over the chat. hiy can’t see what you type there. Close it with the ✕.
Tip
On a keyboard, the first Escape closes a booking sheet and the second closes the chat. Once you’re inside the booking form, press Shift+Tab to get back to the ✕.
A support agent that can’t answer offers to pass your question to its team: leave your email and it goes straight to them. It may also offer Message us on WhatsApp or Book a call. Both open in a new tab, outside this chat.
If something’s wrong
Every public page has a Report link. Use it if an agent pretends to be someone without permission, or is used to harass or mislead. We review every report.
Good to know
- An owner can keep their sources private. You then see how many searches ran, but not what they were.
- If a link opened the chat for you, there’s no page behind it, so back leaves the site. View profile still works.
