Deleting an agent
Delete one agent at a time: your Expert Twin, or any Support or Team Agent. Your other agents and your account are never touched.
Delete an agent
In Agents, press ⋮ at the end of the agent’s row, then Delete….
Before anything happens, hiy lists what this agent takes with it: its conversations, its leads, and which sources go or stay.
Type the agent’s name, not the word “delete”, then press the delete button.
You’ll also find Delete… at the end of the agent’s Details settings, and for every agent in Workspace › Data & privacy under Danger zone.
Warning
Deleting is immediate and final. Nobody can bring it back, including us. To keep a copy, press Export my data (JSON) in Workspace › Data & privacy first.
What goes and what stays
- Goes: its conversations, its leads, its photo and cover, what it learned to answer from, and sources only this agent uses.
- Stays: sources another agent also uses. They move to your Knowledge Hub, and your other agents keep using them.
Your hiy.ai address is kept for you
After you delete an agent, nobody else can claim its hiy.ai address for 90 days, so links and embeds pointing at it can’t be taken over. You can reuse it yourself at any time. After 90 days, it’s free for anyone.
Seeing and releasing what you hold
Workspace › Data & privacy › Addresses you’re holding lists each address you hold and how many days it has left. Release frees it for anyone at once, so if you’re not sure, leave it: the hold ends by itself.
Deleting your whole account
Delete my account, at the end of Workspace › Profile, removes every agent, every source and the account itself. Its addresses are held for 90 days the same way. See Privacy for what we keep, and for how long. If teammates share your workspace, it asks you to make someone else the owner, or remove them in Members, first.
Good to know
- You only see Delete… on agents you created. In someone else’s workspace, their agents are read-only.
- Two agents can share a name but never an address. Check the address under the name before you delete.
- A source you had already removed goes with the agent too.
- If websites still load the agent’s snippet, the confirmation lists them. To keep one working, move it to another agent in Channels › Web chat first.
- In the new Channels layout, a Support Agent has no hiy.ai page, so the confirmation says its handle is held.
