Terms of service

Effective 27 July 2026. Written in plain language on purpose — this is the actual agreement. If you need something specific for your organisation, talk to us.

The basics

By using hiy you agree to these terms and to our Acceptable use rules. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

Your account

Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself, give us accurate information, and be at least 16. You're responsible for what happens under your account. One rule matters above the rest: a twin may only represent you, or a product you own — see Acceptable use.

Your content stays yours

You keep ownership of everything you upload. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your material, index it, and use it to generate your twin's answers.

You confirm you have the right to use the material you add, and that the twin represents you.

Our service

We aim to keep hiy available and working, but it's provided as-is. We don't guarantee uninterrupted service, and we don't guarantee that a twin's answers are accurate — a twin can be wrong, which is why every answer that can show its sources does.

Don't rely on a twin for professional advice, and don't present one as a substitute for it.

Plans and payment

Today the Free plan is the only purchasable reality; its limits are shown on the pricing page. When paid plans launch, prices are shown before you pay, trials start when your twin goes live rather than when you sign up, and honesty features — citations, "I don't know", AI disclosure — are never paywalled. If a price changes, existing subscribers hear about it before it affects them.

Availability and changes

The product is under active development. Features may change, and we'll keep the roadmap honest about what's live versus intended.

Ending it

You can delete your twin or your account at any time from Settings → Data & privacy. We may suspend or remove an account that breaches Acceptable use — most often impersonation.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of hiy, or from what a twin says.
