The hiy.ai credit
Your twin carries a small line saying it runs on hiy. This page says exactly where it appears, what makes it go away, and — more importantly — what nothing can make go away.
Where it appears
Three places, all of them quiet:
- A “Powered by hiy.ai” line under your public page, next to the Report link.
- The same line under your embed, wherever you've put it.
- The word “hiy” in the chat itself — the composer says Message Sam's hiy…
When it comes off
On Free, the credit stays. On Founding, it comes off all three places automatically — you don't have to do anything.
If you'd rather keep it, there's a switch: Voice & rules → The hiy.ai credit. Some people keep it deliberately, which is the next section.
What no plan can remove
None of these are for sale, on any tier, ever:
- The AI label — the "AI twin" pill on your page, and "AI twin · may make mistakes" under your embed.
- The honest “I don't know” — when your twin doesn't have the answer, it says so rather than guessing.
- The citations behind grounded answers. (These are yours to hide from visitors if your material is private — that's the Sources & citations setting, free on every plan, and never a billing decision. The point is that no plan takes it away from you.)
- The Report link.
- The Verified badge.
We sell the credit, never the honesty. A plan that could hide that a twin is AI — or hide the way to report one — would make the badge worth nothing.
When the credit comes off, the chat doesn't stop disclosing; it just stops using our name for it. Message Sam's hiy… becomes Message Sam's AI twin…, which says more about what it is, not less.
What removal doesn't cover
Paying removes our name from your twin. It doesn't rewrite the site your twin is hosted on:
- The hiy.ai address itself — your page still lives at
hiy.ai/your-name. - hiy's own top bar on that page, including the "Create your own" link.
- The social card your link unfurls into.
One sentence covers it: the page hosted at hiy.ai keeps hiy's own chrome; the embed on your site is where unbranded means something.
Why keeping it is worth something
The credit link isn't a tax — it carries your referral. Anyone who follows it and signs up is recorded as yours. Referral perks are honored when paid plans launch.
The link only credits you when someone actually clicks it. Loading your page doesn't count, by design: a referral number that counted views wouldn't be worth anything to you or to us.
If your plan lapses
The credit comes back automatically, on your page and your embed, and the chat goes back to saying "hiy". Nothing is deleted and nothing needs redoing — your preference is remembered, so if you subscribe again it applies straight away.
Worth knowing in advance, because it happens without an email.
