Bubble
The Bubble is a chat button in the corner of your website. A visitor presses it and a panel opens with your agent. It is part of Founding.
Put it on your site
In Channels, open Web chat, then Bubble, then Install.
Under Allowed websites, add each site, such as yoursite.com. For a Support Agent, set Who can open it: Anyone on your sites suits a help centre or docs.
Under Your snippet, press Copy snippet and paste it on every page, just before </body>. With your coding agent gives you one prompt that adds it for you.
Open a page with it once. The status turns Live, or use Check now.
Signed-in users
If your visitors sign in to your product, pick Signed-in users under Who can open it. Install then shows four steps: Your signing secret, Mint a token on your server, What your site tells this agent and Drop the widget on your page. The snippet asks your server for a token before it opens. The token code is in The chat API.
Style the Bubble
Its Style tab has the look every form shares (Style), plus these.
Launcher, corner and width
Launcher corner puts the button Bottom right or Bottom left, on a phone too, and the panel opens from that corner. Panel corner rounds the panel: Soft, Round or Sharp. Width sets how wide it is on a computer. The launcher’s corner travels in your snippet, so copy it again after a change.
Opens on, Home and Messages
Opens on picks the first screen. Conversation opens straight onto the chat. Home opens a start screen with an Ask box, the visitor’s recent conversations and your starting questions, with Home and Messages tabs. Recent conversations stay on the visitor’s own device. When your agent has learned web pages, a Help tab lets visitors search them.
Team faces and reply time
Under Welcome, Team faces shows up to three people from your workspace on Home, as initials, never photos. Show reply time says how fast your team usually replies, worked out from real replies, once there are at least five.
Good to know
- The Bubble is part of the new Channels layout, rolling out to workspaces in turn.
- On the Free plan, Install says the floating chat widget is part of Founding, and the panel tells visitors it isn’t switched on.
- Opens on, Team faces and Show reply time come with the new widget look.
- Copy the snippet again after changing the colour, corner, name or Light or dark.
