Connect Zendesk

Connect Zendesk once for the whole workspace. Your agent can then open a ticket each time it hands a chat to a person.

Connect Zendesk

Create an API token in Zendesk

In Zendesk, open Admin Center › Apps and integrations › APIs › API tokens and press Add API token. Copy the token, because Zendesk shows it once. Token access must be on; Zendesk’s guide says how.

Paste your subdomain, email and token

Press Connect Zendesk in Integrations. Type your Subdomain (the part before .zendesk.com), the Agent email the token belongs to and the API token. hiy checks them before it saves.

Tip

Test only rehearses a handover, so no ticket opens there. Hand over a chat from your own site to see one.

Good to know

  • Use a dedicated Zendesk agent for hiy. It must also be able to read your Help Center if you import it.
  • hiy checks the connection once a day. If Zendesk stops accepting it, owners and admins get one email.
  • Reconnect keeps each agent’s ticket switch and your actions.
